What's new at Indo Board

Here's the latest Indo Board news! Our trade show season is finally winding down with just a couple shows in March, both of which were AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) school shows. First up was the California CAAHPERD show in San Jose which, in only our second year of attendance, was a huge success. We had a great response from both the teachers, student-teachers and school administrators that met us last year and many more new contacts. The highlight of the show was a very well attended and well received presentation put on by Indo Board President, Hunter Joslin. The presentation highlighted the many benefits of introducing the Indo Board Curriculum into elementary, middle and high school PE programs as well as focusing on the integration of Indo Boards using the principles outlined in The New PE. Next up is the National AAHPERD show in Tampa, Florida. This is the biggest AAHPERD show of year so expectations are that we will have another very successful show.

The biggest event on our Spring promotional schedule is just around the corner. The 2nd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship takes place on April 4-11, 2009. The event is a combination of three contests in which the top board sports competitors in the world will compete in snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding over the course of one week in different venues around Southern California. The snowboard contest will be held Sunday April 5th at Bear Mountain. The surf contest will take place at "C" Street in Ventura, California between April 7th - April 9th (3-day waiting period for the best day of swell/conditions), and finally the skateboarding contest will be held just down the street from the surf contest at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. With over 100 of the world's best action sports athletes already confirmed to compete, this year’s event is sure to eclipse the epic event that went down in 2008. Indo Board is a major sponsor of the event this year, so if you are anywhere near Big Bear or Ventura you should not miss the events. Riders will compete for over $70,000.00 in prize money and this year the event will be televised by Fuel TV so watch your local listings for show times.

In other Indo Board news, Indo Board President Hunter Joslin spent a weekend in Vail, Colorado filming a segment for Snow Motion, a weekly show on Fox Sports Net that is hosted by Brenda Buglione, former U.S. Ski Team member and U.S. Pro Tour competitor. The segment will feature Indo Board and it's emergence as one of the most popular and effective tools for training the top professional skiers and snowboarders in the United States. Featured in the segment will be training tips and testimonials from some of the biggest names in snow sports including John Cole, Strength & Conditioning Director at the Ski and Snowboard Club of Vail.

Finally, this month's Letter of the Month comes from Professional Stuntman Ken Quinn

Hello Hunter,

Just wanted to say at 47 years old and being a professional stunt coordinator and performer for 27 yrs on both film and TV, I have had my share of injuries. I've had problems with a weak and floppy left ankle which has bothered me for over 14 years. I am an avid snowboarder and new to surfing. I thought buying the Indo Board would be good for my balance in surfing but to my surprise over time my left ankle has strengthened itself to the point that I have no pain. I starting jogging again and I feel great! I'm suspecting the stabilizing muscles have strengthened due to the Indo Board. Just wanted to say what a great and fun piece of equipment with more benefits than one can list. I’m having a blast with my Indo board and wish I had bought one many years ago.

Sincerely,
Ken Quinn
