Bethany Hamilton Indo Board

Bethany Hamilton's film, Soul Surfer, starring Anna Sophia Robb, opened nation wide, Friday, April 8, 2011. The film is based on Bethany's true life story and book also titled Soul Surfer. Bethany was attacked by a 14 foot tiger shark on October 31, 2003. The attack left Bethany with a severed left arm. We are so stoked that Indo Board was there from the beginning helping Bethany in her quest to become a Professional Surfer after the loss of her arm. She continues to surf and inspire people all over the world.

Much Aloha goes out to Tom Hamilton, Bethany's dad, for his adamant support of the fact that Indo Board played a part in Bethany's training. Indo Board was well placed in several scenes in the film largely due to Tom's influence in the production of the film.

Indo Board Letter of the Month

This month's Letter of the Month comes from surf coach, Robbie Nelson of
http://www.happybarrelssurfschool.com/

Surf Coach

I am Robbie Nelson, head coach at ProSurf Coaches as well as the founder of the Adaptive Surfing Foundation. Since 2000 I was using the Indo Board with my surf clients as balance trainer, yet never applied it to my own fitness until after my knee injury in 2009. It is now a part of my daily life.

Since moving our operations from California to New York in November, ProSurf Coaches continues to deliver staggering results and the Indo Board has proven to be one of our most valuable assets, especially for the days when the surf is flat.
At the Adaptive Surfing Foundation, The Indo Board has also proven to be a fantastic training tool for surfers with disabilities, helping them develop stability, core strength and focus to allow them to surf stronger and with more confidence.

I want to say thank you to Hunter and everyone at Indo Board for your motivation and for making my workouts more focused and fun.

-Robbie Nelson, Surfing Australia level 2 certified Instructor

Head Coach, ProSurf Coaches
