Valley CrossFit has been using Indo Boards for many, many years and have pioneered many advanced Indo Board training routines, some of which can be viewed in this highly popular YouTube video. In other fitness training news, nationally recognized fitness trainer Stew Smith recently wrote an article for Military.com, the nations leading website for all things related to U.S. Armed Forces. Stew extols the virtues of the Indo Board Balance Trainer as a fitness training tool in his article entitled "Advance Balance Training for Athletes". During the week of April 4th - 11th, the Action Sports world turned its focus to the 2nd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championships. The event, billed as the "Triathlon of the New Generation" featured snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding in three different venues across Southern California and was sponsored, in part, by Indo Board. Competition was intense as the athletes attempted to show that they could excel in all three sports by putting together the best combined score for all three disciplines. The level of talent was simply incredible as the competition proved quickly that athletes could not have a single weakness if they wanted to contend for the overall title. At the end of the week the podium was dominated by skateboarders with Chad Shetler being crowned the 2009 Ultimate Boarder, Kristian Philipp finishing second and Omar Hassan finishing third. Be sure to watch the Ultimate Boarders ONE HOUR PRIMETIME PREMIERE ON FUEL TV on June 22, 2009 at 8:00 PM. The show will reach 26 million homes and reach up to 40 million homes in syndication. Jensen continued his tear through the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS), notching another impressive victory in Ventura, California. The powerful longboarder saved his best performance for the final, netting the event's highest heat total with a near-perfect 18.57 out of 20. The Oceanside, California local has been in stellar form throughout the beginning of the year and has already claimed a victory at the prestigious Noosa Pro event in Australia. Jensen is now chasing his first ASP World Longboarding Tour (WLT) Championship and is hoping that his success on the LQS will help him achieve his goal of an ASP World Longboard Championship. In motocross news, Indo Board Team Rider Trey Canard capped off a challenging West Coast Lites season with a convincing win at the final stop of the West Coast Lites season in Salt Lake City. Congratulations to Trey for hanging in there and proving that bad luck and a few bad races can't keep a true champion down. Trey's amazing second half of the season netted him a 6th place overall finish in the West Coast Lites (WSX) final standings. With the outdoor season quickly approaching expect to see Trey build on this incredible momentum. In our efforts to continue to build our Indo Board Motocross Team, we are very proud to welcome professional motocross rider Blake Wharton to the Indo Board Team. Congratulations are also in order for Blake as he accomplished what very few Supercross rookies have ever done - win a Supercross Main Event race. Steadily improving over the season, the GEICO Powersports Honda rider got his first Heat win and podium finish in New Orleans and followed that up with his first win in a Main Event the next weekend in St. Louis. Blake is clearly on a roll and we are proud to have him as an Indo Board Team rider. To read more about Blake and his equally talented brother Tyler go to http://www.whartonracing.com. In other news, Indo Board's European distributor, INDO EUROPE recently certified the top six British Surfing Association (BSA) surf coaches making them Certified Indo Board Instructors. They are now able to incorporate their new Indo-Boarding knowledge into surf coaching and teaching. The BSA Junior Team as well as the BSA "Surf Anywhere Project" school program will be using Indo Boards in tandem with other dry land training methods. Finally, this month's Letter of the Month comes from Candee Stuchlik, 2008 AAHPERD Central District High School Teacher of the Year Two weeks ago I introduced the Indo Board into one of our special education classes as a trial. The teacher has been using the IndoFLO Balance Stimulator (cushion and board) to work math equations and is wanting to move up to Indo Original (roller and board) as they do their reading. We are using the Indo Board as a focus mechanism, reward product, and as a calming device when students become upset and/or frustrated. My colleague has used it for two weeks and is LOVING it! My goal for next year during my classroom section is to have it in the back of the room for my students as we read/study to help some of my ADHD students. I had a student graduate a year ago and he does all studying on the Indo Board, even in college. |
